[Okay so as it’s been obvious I am obsessed with Tomb Raider. My life, youtube and webpage center around Lara Croft. So it’s no doubt I would be excited about the new Lara Croft Barbie that has come out. From what I am understanding, she wasn’t suppose to be released until March, when the movie is released. How ever Toys’r’Us might have dropped the ball on the release date. Thank God they did though as some of us Tomb Raider fans were lucky enough to get her early. So the day I saw my favorite youtuber, Melonic Mac, posting a photo of hers on twitter, I went straight to the toys r us website and ordered it. I didn’t care that I was at work, I was super excited to get the email she was ready to pick up. However, the next day I had to call them as I was receiving no email or phone call. They informed me that she was in fact ready to pick up in store. Luckily I was on break at work so I rushed to cook my hot pocket and scarfed it down as I drove like a crazy person, in the rain mind you, possibly putting myself at risk. I arrived there in under ten minutes, the guy behind the counter even commented that I was ‘fast’. “Yup, I was on break at work and rush over here.” I said as I tried not to scream, while I was also on the phone with the boyfriend by the way. Course, the scream was let out once I stepped through the doors of the store and back into the parking lot. My boyfriend’s ears ringing from the scream, Oppsy! Sorry!

My first photo of the beautifully boxed Lara Barbie. Ignore the pink fuzzy steering wheel cover in the background.

I was freaking out! My boyfriend couldn’t understand why but I didn’t care. I had her finally in my hands and I wanted to open her up. But I had to drive back to work, she’ll have to endure a few more hours in her box. I finally was able to open her once I got home and even hold, play and pose her on her stand.

My Lara shrine is slowly growing little by little, I just need to add the new funko pop that’s coming soon. But I couldn’t be happier with her! She is beautiful! She hasn’t hardly left my side since coming out of her box. I know I am a dork but just look at her! I can’t wait for the movie, I’ll post more on that later. My Lara Barbie has even inspired me to start a Croft Adventures Instagram account. Look me up and follow!

[Tomb Raider Re-Imagined is not a remake of the first Tomb Raider game. It follows the same plot and uses the same assets but features completely different levels. It is built using the TR4 engine but modified in a way to resemble the original game as closely as possible.

[So this was just made out of boredom. I did a pose in XNALara and found a bunch of stock photos online and created this. I’m not 100% sure how I feel about it, I tired my hardest to make the wolves and Lara look as though they belonged in this environment. Now quite sure if the wolves look photoshopped in or if they look like they belong. Tell me what y’all think.

So I have recently been replaying some of the old Tomb Raider games, I thought I would start with the classics. I took some screen caps of the first game. I just finished level one. I’ll probably do one level at a time. I forgot how much I loved this game. It takes me back to when I first started playing it. The enemies were very easy to kill, as far as the first few levels. The bats, wolves and bears within the first level can be killed with minimal effort. There was a total of 3 secrets, 6 pickups and about 14 kills. I took a screen cap of my stats. It took me roughly 13 minutes to complete. This of course was only the first level. That’s only because I back tracked to take some screen shots. Even though the graphics were not as great as what we have now, for its time, they are great. I found really no glitches to exploit in the first level. As I love exploiting glitches in the classic games. I will say it is kind of slow paced and (I hate to say this) slightly boring at times. Maybe this is because I have over played the game? Maybe I have spoiled myself with the new reboots? I am not sure, though I felt this way after the first level I still continue to love this game. This was the second game I played in the franchise. This is the one of the games that got me hooked on Tomb Raider.  Hopefully the game will pick up a bit further into the game. Its been awhile since I’ve played.

Tomb Raider is an action-adventure video game developed by Core Design and published by Eidos Interactive. It was originally released in 1996 for Sega Saturn, PlayStation and MS-DOS. Tomb Raider was also released into the mobile gaming market for N-Gage devices in 2003. The game was released for the PlayStation Network in North America in August 2009, and in Europe in August 2010. Tomb Raider follows the exploits of Lara Croft, an English archaeologist in search of ancient treasures.

The game was critically and commercially successful, selling around 7.5 million copies worldwide and earning a 91 aggregate score according to Metacritic and is considered widely influential, serving as a template for many 3D action-adventure games that would follow. A remake of the game was released in 2007 in celebration of its 10th anniversary, and a reboot of its series under the same title was released in 2013.

[So the other day I learned I could record game play.  Well I already knew I could but on my old phone it wouldn’t work, and I couldn’t figure out how to upload them. Well as a test I uploaded a couple videos here and there of some of my game play. I even uploaded the first two levels.

This is the best and longest run I’ve done so far.

Stay tuned!

[Okay so I am somewhat active in online communities. The biggest one being Tomb Raider, and I frequently visit one called tomb raider forums. I decided to post my previous blog about my review on the tomb raider franchise on there. I wanted to get some opinions from other tomb raider fans. Especially regarding the Legend reboot. Though they were not helpful much in my research on that. (I was trying to prove or disprove a theory And they didn’t cooperate with me) But they did make a lot of interesting points. If you want to read the full thread you can do that here: Reviewing the TR franchice

I would quote some stuff from the thread but its easier for y’all to understand if you just read through it yourselves. Plus I am being a bit lazy and don’t want to copy, paste and rewrite what I have already written down some where else. If y’all want to put in your thoughts, post there or you can always comment here or send me an email about it. I am trying to see if I can test a theory. I believe a lot of Core fans believe Legend was a reboot and Crystal fans think it was not. And fans of both are about 50/50. But I can’t seem to get a straight answer out of these members. So I will just have to see how it goes. Let me know what y’all think.
